The River Gipping plays an important part in the history of Suffolk. Returning the river to public view, access and use will greatly enhance appreciation of this waterway as part of our local heritage. The opportunity to make improvements along the course of the River Gipping will encourage wildlife and at the same time provide a beautiful and natural place to take exercise and enjoy leisure pursuits. At present the river in parts is sadly neglected, Structures, some listed, are becoming derelict. However in other parts of the country, waterways are cherished and valued as environmental amenities which provide positive leisure experiences. The River Gipping Trust is committed to bringing this change to fruition.
The trust have detailed their vision of the river in a 16 page, A4 colour brochure, updated and expanded in 2021
