Electric Trip Boat

Once a navigable river between Needham Lakes and Baylham Mill is achieved the Trust believes that it would be viable to run a trip boat from Needham Lakes to Baylham Mill and back as there is much foot traffic already at the ever-popular Needham Lakes and that the boat would complement the new Duck and Teapot café and visitor centre, built overlooking Bosmere Lock at Needham Lakes.

In addition, the boat would give access to the Baylham House Rare Breeds Centre and would open up the quiet countryside and its associated wildlife along the river to visitors to the Needham Lakes attraction.

The Trust hope to purchase and run an electric shallow draft trip boat suitable for carrying up to ten passengers, plus facilities for disabled passengers. It would be operated by volunteers and run at weekends and in school holidays during the summer months.
